This is the vision that guides our business and which we wish to share, so that those who choose us do so knowing something about us, and above all to be able to meet others who think like us in order to work alongside them.
At Flyfood, we ...
We focus on more than just ourselves
We are aware of the impact that our choices can have. This is why we are committed to working with methods that can improve the society and environment in which we live.
Respect for People
More than 70 people work with us: over 75% of them are aged between 18 and 30, while the “older” ones have an average age of 38.
All are offered contracts, on-call or permanent, in accordance with applicable labour legislation.
This allows us to guarantee stability and life planning to our employees, and a high level of service to our customers.
All personnel are guaranteed continuous professional development, with training inside the company and from external providers.
We have set in motion People Welfare programs which offer employees access to personal health insurance plans and training contributions.
Respect for the Environment
We run a net-zero-impact plant. We produce electricity with our solar panels which fully covers our demand. Atmospheric emissions are composed entirely of water vapour.
We have created a structured waste management station to ensure all waste is sorted correctly at all times.
We promote the choice of Mater-Bi and PLA tableware, made with materials which are completely biodegradable and compostable.
We are Fundraisers
We promote and participate in charity programs by organising fundraising dinners and participating in events for the benefit of local charities.
Since 2016 we have been working alongside Banco Alimentare and Equoevento in the FOOD for GOOD project, which aims to make use of and prevent the waste of excess food from events.
Coffee breaks and meals during conventions, congresses and other events are a pleasant moment spent in company, where flavour, high quality and abundance take leading roles, but can also lead to food waste.
This uneaten food can be donated to good causes easily and safely.
For this reason, we chose to partner with the FOOD for GOOD project alongside Banco Alimentare and Equoevento to make it possible to recover and make use of excess food from our catering services for events and conventions.
We organise the recovery with the Banco Alimentare and Equoevento organisation, who deliver it to charity organisations (shelters, canteens and centres for refugees) who support people in need.
We also feel that, in addition to this work itself, it is important to let people know about it in order to create widespread social awareness which increases focus on the topic of food waste.
The circular economy is the economic model of the future which must necessarily also involve the food sector. In this vision, the Circular Kitchen represents a goal which we need to fully meet in our social and business vision for this sector.
“What others call waste, for us is resources for new creations”
This is the slogan we used to launch our project to become a CIRCULAR CATERING FIRM.
We did so with concrete steps, adding our “circular” recipes to our menus and carrying out research into recyclable packaging such as hemp-based bioplastic and biodegradable algae-based packaging.
